Our Community
The MD Criminal Defense Group feels that our most satisfying work is when we’re serving the community. We take great pride in providing support and funding to a variety of causes and nonprofits dedicated to helping Maryland and its communities. Below are some of the ways we’ve been involved in our community over the years.
2025 Outstanding Citizen Scholarship
We are proud to sponsor the discussion on good citizenship for the 7th year in a row. It truly means a lot to us to offer educational benefits to individuals who demonstrate outstanding citizenship. This essay contest and the $1,000 scholarship associated with it are open to individuals throughout the U.S. who are enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution during the 2025-2026 school year.
2024 Outstanding Citizen Scholarship Winner: Jacqueline Majano
Hi! My name is Jacqueline Majano, and I am a proud first-generation Salvadoran American from a hard working immigrant family. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the anxiety and difficulty that came with accessing resources and navigating the legal system. See more about Jaqueline and other winners here.
Outstanding Citizen Scholarship
Since 2017, we have offered the Outstanding Citizen Scholarship to students who serve their communities and make them a better place. This scholarship aims to allow community leaders and dedicated citizens to pursue their education and better equip them to make the world a better place. If interested, you must apply to our 2022 scholarship by the September 30th deadline. You can check out our previous winners here!
Semper Fi 5K & Half Race Sponsorship
In 2018, our law office sponsored the Semper Fi 5K & Half Races. The proceeds of this event went towards the Semper Fi Fund which is an organization dedicated to providing resources and support to wounded, ill, and injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. This fund assists in transforming the lives of service members and helping them heal and transition back to their communities. The event was a great success and runners were able to enjoy the scenic Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Path that runs throughout Washington D.C.
